Journey of the Heart Performance Grant Opportunity Announcement
Renowned poet and author John O’Donohue writes “there is within you a sanctuary of deep love, trust and belonging. This is the ancient dream, the masterpiece of divine creativity: the creation of the human heart.” As an accomplished musician and leader within a community choral ensemble, you hold the key to unlocking and accessing the human heart to inspire, heal, and transform.
Journey of the Heart is a 13-movement sacred oratorio exploring the human journey of healing and transformation toward reconciliation, and hope.
Grant opportunities from $15,000 to $60,000 are available to high-caliber choral ensembles across the US to learn and perform this Oratorio. The grants are available for both octavo and full orchestra performances.
We have opened our initial grant cycle for the 2026-2027 music season and will also be providing grants for the 2027-2028 music season at a future date. We wanted to give your group the opportunity to learn more about the Oratorio and to apply for grant funding. More info, including score samples, can be found one our grants page.
Additionally, recordings of the version of the Oratorio presented at the world premiere performance in Denver, Colorado in June of 2023 are here for you to listen to. Since that time, the full orchestral ensemble version has been carefully and lovingly updated and the octavo version with only piano accompaniment has been prepared. A version of the Oratorio with a piano and a limited instrumental ensemble is also in preparation and will be available within the next year.
